I paid online for tickets to an event in Malta through the organiser’s own website. The payment went through and I got a confirmation email, but the tickets themselves never arrived and now nobody replies to my emails or calls. What can I actually do to get my money back?

This looks like a straightforward case of a trader failing to supply goods or services that were paid for, which falls squarely within the protections of the Consumer Affairs Act, Chapter 378 of the Laws of Malta. Start by sending one final written demand, by email and, if you have an address, by registered post, giving a short deadline to deliver the tickets or issue a full refund, and keep a copy for your records. If you paid by card, contact your bank about a chargeback, since unauthorised or undelivered goods and services are common grounds for reversing a card payment. In parallel, you can report the trader to the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority (MCCAA), which monitors unfair commercial practices, and if the amount involved justifies it, file a claim with the Consumer Claims Tribunal to formally recover your money. Keep all payment confirmations and correspondence as evidence throughout.

I cancelled a monthly subscription box service based in Malta through their app three months ago, and I even received a cancellation confirmation email at the time, but they have continued charging my card every month since. Support keeps saying my cancellation 'didn't go through' on their end.

I bought a sofa from a Maltese furniture website two weeks ago and paid in full. It has not been delivered yet but I changed my mind and want to cancel the order. The company is saying that because it was custom-coloured, cancellation is not possible. Is that legal?

I bought a used car from a dealer in Birkirkara and within a week the engine started making a loud knocking noise. A mechanic told me it needs major work. The dealer says used cars are sold as-is and won't help. Is that actually true under Maltese law?

I ordered a laptop from an online store based in Malta and when the box arrived the casing was cracked along one corner. The seller is now claiming it must have happened during shipping and is refusing to replace it or refund me. I still have the original packaging and photos I took right after opening the box. What are my options here?
