I placed one order on a Maltese online shop and my bank statement shows I was charged twice for the exact same amount on the same day. I only received one item. Customer service keeps saying they will ‘look into it’ but three weeks have passed with no refund.
I ordered a laptop from an online store based in Malta and when the box arrived the casing was cracked along one corner. The seller is now claiming it must have happened during shipping and is refusing to replace it or refund me. I still have the original packaging and photos I took right after opening the box. What are my options here?
I was browsing an electronics website registered in Malta and the listed price for a television was clearly shown as one figure, but at checkout it charged me a higher amount and only afterwards did I notice the difference on my bank statement. I only realised a few days later. Can I demand the lower price or a refund of the difference?
I ordered a dining table from a shop in Qormi and paid a deposit, with the balance due on delivery. The delivery date has been pushed back three times over three months, each time with a vague excuse. I am starting to think the order was never actually placed. What are my rights?
I bought a sofa from a Maltese furniture website two weeks ago and paid in full. It has not been delivered yet but I changed my mind and want to cancel the order. The company is saying that because it was custom-coloured, cancellation is not possible. Is that legal?
My flight departing from Malta International Airport was cancelled two days before departure due to what the airline called ‘operational reasons’. Instead of a cash refund, they are only offering a travel voucher valid for one year. I would rather have my money back. Can they force me to accept a voucher?
My smartphone stopped charging properly while still under the manufacturer’s warranty. I brought it to the authorised repair centre in Malta over two months ago and it is still ‘being assessed’. I use this phone for work and this delay is becoming a real problem. Is there a legal limit on how long a repair can take?
I bought tickets to a concert in Malta from a ticket resale website, not the original organiser, paying a marked-up price. The event has now been officially cancelled and the original organiser is refunding face-value tickets, but the resale site is refusing to refund the markup I paid them. Do I have any claim against the resale platform?
I joined a gym in Sliema on what I thought was a monthly rolling membership, but three months in I found out the contract actually locks me in for 24 months with a heavy exit fee. Nobody explained this clearly when I signed up at the front desk. Can I get out of it?
My mobile phone contract with a Maltese provider was supposed to end after two years, but I only found out three months after it silently renewed for another 24 months because I kept getting charged the same monthly fee. I never received a renewal notice. Can I cancel now without penalty?
